Salad Greens

It is time to use up the packet of snijgroenten mix I bought a few years ago. Despite my best attempts, these never seem to do good in the vegetable bed. They are probably too fragile to deal with the many variables of exposure such as heat, heavy rains, cold nights, drought, snails, and insects.

So when D went for bread and some errands this morning, I moved the ‘endive tub’ from the utility room to the terrace. I shall use that as a planter for the salad greens.

After sowing the snijgroenten seeds, I cut up a clear plastic bag and used it to cover the container. This way, a greenhouse environment is created for the plants. It also prevents the tub from being used as a cat litter.
