Remembering The Capitol

A few university friends, my sister, my aunt Nancy, and I went on a road trip and visited Washington D.C. in the year 1995. We visited almost all of the attractions that the city had to offer – including the United States Capitol.

After the events of two days ago, I went searching for the photographs I have of this particular trip. I was mainly interested in the photos which I took of the Capitol Building. But it seems that my photo albums have not been moved to the European continent yet.

Our group then consisted of Malaysians and Singaporeans. We were quiet and orderly when we toured the inside of the Capitol because we had respect for a building which represents the people and nation we are getting our higher education from.

Respect, the ingredient that was almost non-existing in that sea of red, white and blue 48-hours ago. I do not know how much longer we can all tolerate these. Scarier still is the question of when will the next idiot going to be elected, when will the next rotten thing going to make its way to our future. Damn…
